# Why every answer shows its source

The source under each answer is not decoration — it is the thing that had to exist before the answer could be given. An answer with no page behind it is not offered at all.

## What this means in practice

- It can be wrong the way your own page can be wrong — an out-of-date price gets quoted as the price. The shown source is how you find which page to fix.
- When it does not know, it says so and hands the person to you — your hours, or how to reach you. That is the behaviour, not a setting.
- It reads and answers by default — a question that needs the diary or the till gets handed to a person rather than guessed at. The only exception is an action the owner deliberately published, and those run under the consent rules in [connect from an agent](/docs/connect-from-an-agent): explicit permission from the person, or a pre-authorised one.
